Drive from Pokhara to Thasang 4.5 to 5 hrs From Pokhara, a 4-hour drive takes you north along the Kali Gandaki valley to Lete or Thasang, villages framed by the icy peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. On the way, we pause to admire the thundering Rupse Waterfall and enjoy a leisurely lunch. It’s the perfect introduction to Mustang’s raw beauty. After reaching the village, we head off for a short village stroll. |

Day 2 |
Thasang - Kagbeni |

Drive from Thasang to Kagbeni, explore Naurikot, Marpha, Dhumba Lake, Thinigaon and Jomsom. 6 to 7 hrs After breakfast, we will drive up to scenic Naurikot village and walk around before heading to Marpha, a charming apple-growing town known for its whitewashed houses, narrow lanes, and delicious apple brandy. Continue to the turquoise Dhumba Lake, a peaceful spot sacred to both Buddhists and Hindus, and nearby Thinigaon with its traditional lifestyle. Lunch is in Jomsom, Mustang’s bustling hub. Along the road, we stop at Eklebhatti to see mysterious ancient petroglyphs carved into stone. By late afternoon we reach Kagbeni, a medieval-looking settlement of mud-brick alleys and prayer wheels. |

Explore Kagbeni village In the morning, you have the option to visit the Kag Chode monastery for a morning prayer with the monks. We will also explore the old Kagbeni village and watch herders take their cattles to graze high up in the mountains. |

Drive from Jomsom to Muktinath, explore Jharkot and Muktinath temple After breakfast, we head up to Jharkot village with centuries-old monastery and fort. The views and drive is quite surreal today along the rain shadow area of Mustang. We then drive to Muktinath, one of the Himalaya’s most sacred temples, where pilgrims come for the holy waters and eternal flame. A short walk takes you to the towering Padmasambhava statue, offering sweeping views over Ranipauwa. |

Drive from Muktinath to Jomsom, explore Jhong and Lubra villages Today, we’ll explore some of Mustang’s most enchanting ancient villages, each steeped in history and an almost otherworldly charm. Our journey begins in Jhong—literally meaning fort—the former capital of Mustang. Wander through its narrow alleys lined with traditional mud-brick houses and visit the atmospheric ruins of the old fort that once guarded this important settlement. All the while, the majestic Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains form a stunning backdrop, adding drama to the landscape. Later, we continue to Lubra, the last surviving Bon village in Mustang. Here, time seems to stand still. We’ll explore its centuries-old monasteries, interact with locals, and gain insights into the unique Bonpo way of life—an ancient spiritual tradition that predates Buddhism and continues to define the identity of the Mustangis. |

Jomsom - Pokhara |

Drive from Jomsom to Pokhara Today, we retrace the route back from Jomsom to Pokhara, descending from the arid trans-Himalayan landscape into the lush green valleys below while following the Kali Gandaki River Upon arrival in Pokhara, we can unwind and enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the serene Phewa Lake—stroll along the lakeside promenade, sip coffee at a cozy café, or simply take in the tranquil mountain views reflected on the water. |

You will be accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable tour guide equipped with a first aid kit. Always follow their instructions and stick to designated paths.
While Nepal is generally very safe, there is still a possibility of pickpocketing in touristy areas. Pack your passport, flight tickets, phone, wallet, camera equipment, cash, and all your valuables in your day pack or waist belt. Please don’t bring or carry expensive items like jewelry etc or a large sum of cash while traveling for security reasons.
Water safety is very crucial as one can easily contract waterborne diseases. Drinking tap water is not advised and we recommend drinking boiled/ filtered or bottled water only.
Meals are left out from price includes to give you full flexibility, depending on your appetite and preference. The hotels and restaurants are hygienic, and have a good selection of food and drink options. For vegetarians and vegans, or if you have any other dietary requirements, please let us know at the time of booking so we can make arrangements.
