The Himalayas have always been one of the toughest places on earth to live and tread, creating safe heavens and secluded retreats in ancient times (Beyuls). Although several places have been made accessible and popularized, some trekking regions still lay very remote and unchartered.

Trekking in these Himalayan regions feels like travelling back in time. Here, the landscapes are pristine, architectures are medieval and the ancient cultures are still intact. These regions generally have difficult access and the infrastructure is very basic. Some are labeled restricted areas and required special permits. Manaslu, Upper Mustang and Dolpo regions are some of the remote treks in Nepal.
