Hiking and trekking with vonKathmandu has been the highlight of my life since moving to Nepal. The day hikes are always well organized and fun. The food is amazing (lunch and snacks are included on hikes). The guides are kind and detail oriented.
The trek I went on with this company was an amazing experience and I can’t say enough about how wonderful everything was planned (even plan b, if a didn’t work out). The trek was catered to my speed and ability. I was well-prepared thanks to vonKathmandu’s guidance and never felt uninformed. I will definitely trek with them again. Thank you, vonKathmandu!

I had an excellent trekking to EBC with VonKathmandu. It was well organized with a great guide and porter, sleeping in comfortable and well-chosen hostels along the trail. VonKathmandu provides a personal touch. They want you to have a wonderful time because they are passionate about the mountains and trekking themselves. We extended our trek with one day because of the snow, which was flexibly accommodated. I liked the formula of the lunch and dinner not being included in the price, which meant that you had more control over when and what to spend. A great trip organized by people who care and have the local network to ensure that you have an excellent trip.

vonKathmandu is a great way to see Kathmandu Valley without any hassle. The team organises everything, right day to snacks. You only have to enjoy the scenery and the company. I’ve been taking hikes with them for three years, and they just keep getting better. They are mindful of the impact on the environment (by reducing and packing out trash) and on the people in villages we pass by. Always great views and great company. Totally recommend vonKathmandu.

I just got back from an Everest Base Camp trek organized by VonKathmandu, and it was one of the highlights of my life! While the landscape and Sherpa culture alone are enough to leave one in awe, solid planning and logistics support on behalf of VonKathmandu staff enabled me to enjoy the trek without worrying about details. I simply grabbed my kit every morning and admired the dramatic landscape before me during the strenuous trek.
I especially appreciated my pre-trek briefing with VonKathmandu staff who spared more than an hour out of their busy schedules to go over the 12-day itinerary and answer any questions I had.
I was also impressed with the responsiveness of the staff when I had questions or concerns. The Khumbu valley is a remote area with unpredictable internet connectivity, but whenever I checked my phone in the off chance I could connect to WiFi, I always found messages from VonKathmandu staff asking how I was, for pictures of the trek and to offer words of encouragement. Can it get better than that?!
Finally, VonKathmandu staff understand the added headache of getting from Kathmandu to Ramechhap in order to fly to Lukla. While they secured my flights from Ramechhap – Lukla – Ramechhap, they also shopped around for helicopter flights from Kathmandu directly to Lukla and found an excellent deal that only added a small amount to my reasonably priced trek fee.

The trip was amazing and I was so happy to be your guinea pig for this one! I loved how you found and connected the trails behind the trails and took me to corners around Pokhara that I had no idea existed! The choice of hotels was excellent and I will never forget the view from Club ES – it’s totally etched in my mind forever. The most peaceful moment was sitting at Rupa lake – watching birds land and take off. What a welcome little moment of rest before going up the hill!

You are an excellent guide, smart, funny, caring. I felt at all times well cared for. On top, you’re an outstanding photographer and the memories you created are a very cool bonus.

I have used several other trekking guides in Nepal and although nearly all of them have been very good, vonKathmandu is the best.
The best guided hikes in Nepal! Anuj and his team are the most organized and prepared trekking guides in Nepal. They are friendly, knowledgeable and safety-conscious. The first time I hiked with them I experienced heat exhaustion and I had never had that happen before. They knew immediately what was happening and gave me electrolytes and shaded rest, etc. and I recovered quickly. On another trek with another company, the same thing happened. Luckily, I had learned to bring my own electrolytes, but I was surprised that our guide didn’t know what heat exhaustion was and didn’t know how to help me. I told the company’s owner that, and he had never heard of heat exhaustion either. I have used several other trekking guides in Nepal and although nearly all of them have been very good, vonKathmandu is the best. I have now been on several hikes with them and they are consistently awesome.

There were some steep climbs, but most was downhill or flat with excellent views the whole way. Definitely plan to bring some water. Snacks and sandwiches were provided and they were very delicious. The Bosan Pine Hike was an incredible experience. Sunning hike and views. The team is skilled and friendly.
The hike took about 6 hours with plenty of small breaks, to ensure everyone arrived together. Tasty sandwiches were provided for lunch with a stunning view under the prayer flags at the top. Before you make it there, you get to stop for some tea or coffee after the first little climb.
It’s hard to put in this review how much beauty there is on this 15 km hike. Stunning views of sprawling terraces and seas of yellow mustard flowers.
Anuj, Aziz, and Jeevan were gracious guides, making it a fun experience, engaging hikers, and answering questions. Highly recommend, and will be certain to travel through von Kathmandu on my next trip.

Outside the busy season, we had the opportunity to sit with the locals around the wood fire ovens and to listen to their stories about bears raiding the village..
EBC – I was a bit worried going to EBC for my very first long hike, but VonKathmandu took excellent care of me: we went shopping for outfits, got my shoes stitched in Namche, we found all the Cappuccinos along the trek, stopped to take photos of every Yak … while enjoying the breathtaking mountain scenery of Taboche, Amadablam, Lotse, Nuptse – and finally Everest, all along. The guide was very knowledgeable about all the view points and extra spots worth exploring along the trek, including a religious festival in Tengboche Monastery, or local chyang curtesy of his parents. A great trip organised by people who love the mountains and want to make sure you have an excellent experience.
Langtang – at the end of the trekking season, my lady guide and me, we had the mountains for ourselves. Outside the busy season, we had the opportunity to sit with the locals around the wood fire ovens and to listen to their stories about bears raiding the village, the 2015 earthquake, how to ensure good education for the children, and more recent, about the impact of corona on tourism, Covid cases and vaccination campaigns. Apart from enjoying the forest and the mountains and the serenity and the silence before returning to a busy and noisy Kathmandu, an unexpectedly educational tour as well, with quick impromptu visits to the Chinese border and Nuwakot castle.
