The food is amazing (lunch and snacks are included on hikes). The guides are kind and detail oriented. I had an excellent trekking to EBC with VonKathmandu. It was well organized with a great guide and porter, sleeping in comfortable and well-chosen hostels along the trail. We extended our trek with one day because of the snow, which was flexibly accommodated. I liked the formula of the lunch and dinner not being included in the price, which meant that you had more control over when and what to spend. A great trip organized by people who care and have the local network to ensure that you have an excellent trip.

They were so good about checking in with us constantly about how we were physically feeling, to make sure nobody became sick beyond the norm, and took care of us quickly when we did. The team in Kathmandu was exceptional in preparing us for the trip – top notch communication leading up to the trek, throughout, and after. They all felt like family by the end! If you want to do EBC, go with VonKathmandu! You won’t regret it!

I have used several other trekking guides in Nepal and although nearly all of them have been very good, vonKathmandu is the best.

The best guided hikes in Nepal! Anuj and his team are the most organized and prepared trekking guides in Nepal. They are friendly, knowledgeable and safety-conscious. The first time I hiked with them I experienced heat exhaustion and I had never had that happen before. They knew immediately what was happening and gave me electrolytes and shaded rest, etc. and I recovered quickly. On another trek with another company, the same thing happened. Luckily, I had learned to bring my own electrolytes, but I was surprised that our guide didn’t know what heat exhaustion was and didn’t know how to help me. I told the company’s owner that, and he had never heard of heat exhaustion either. I have used several other trekking guides in Nepal and although nearly all of them have been very good, vonKathmandu is the best. I have now been on several hikes with them and they are consistently awesome.

Great scenery in great company. vonKathmandu is a great way to see Kathmandu Valley without any hassle. The team organises everything, right day to snacks. If you travel during the cold months just be prepared that there is no indoor heating. But other than that everything went smoothly and very professionally. My guide Tanzing was amazing, the trek itself greatly memorable and communication before the trek helpful. 100% would recommendend vonKathmandu, Pikey Peak trek and Tanzing!!

We had a fantastic time trekking to Poon Hill and Mohare Danda with VonKathmandu! They set up a trip tailored to our kids’ trekking ability, that would also provide beautiful views. From the beginning Dakshina was great to work with, and took care to answer all of our questions. Our guides were experienced and very helpful throughout our full trip. It was a perfect intro for our family to trekking in Nepal. When our flight back to Kathmandu was cancelled due to wildfires, Dakshina quickly rescheduled our hotel and arranged alternative transport. We look forward to trekking with VonKathmandu again!

Had an amazing seven day trek with VonKathmandu! Our guide Tenzin was absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable, and found us all the best lodges to stay at and restaurants along the route.

He not only made sure we got great views of Everest, but was able to explain all the other mountains on the range and took us on routes with beautiful vistas all day. Cannot recommend VonKathmandu highly enough. If you’re looking to trek in Nepal you will definitely be in great hands with them.

Von Kathmandu looked after every detail from the start to the end of our wonderful trek up to Kanjin at the top of the Langtang trail. We had an excellent guide (Ramesh Tamang who spoke good English and was extremely knowledgeable). We will come again and use their great services soon.

We had an excellent guide (Ramesh Tamang who spoke good English and was extremely knowledgeable) plus 2 porters (Pasang and Suraj Tamang). All were very attentive and great fun. We were a family of three (parents and daughter who has just started teaching full time in Kathmandu. (NB Trip advisor, there is no category for a family with grown up children!) The trek was amazing, The views throughout the trek are wonderful and the mountains are breath taking. The bird life was terrific. We had monkeys in the trees lower down, mule trains (each mule with a bell signalling their coming) and yaks above 3000m. Thank you Von Kathmandu for an amazing trip full of wonderful memories and lots of laughs. The accommodation certainly up towards Langtang and beyond was very good. Lower down the accommodation was a little more basic as it is owned by the National Park authorities who have provided little funding for improvement over the years. The welcome by the Nepali families and owners operating the accommodation and various tea house was second to none. I wanted to make sure that the drive to and from Surybesi (the start of the trek 6-7 hours from KTM) was in a vehicle with good seat belts, a driver that did not use his mobile phone and one that drove well and safely in what can be quite challenging driving conditions. Anuj and Dachshina ensured that this was the case and we had two good cars and competent drivers. We have been to Nepal twice before and there is a culture of not using or even having no seat belts in cars and we have had quite worrying journeys in the past with other transport companies. Von Kathmandu are good value and an excellent company to trek with and our heartfelt thank to our guide Ramesh and his team for a wonderful trip. We will come again and use their great services soon.

Even last minute adjustments (we had to take a car back from Pokhara to Kathmandu as the airport was closed due to wildfire haze) were made in no time and with good communication throughout.

We (two adults and one teenager) booked the ABC Trek with vonKathmandu and it was a wonderful experience. We felt very much taken care of from the beginning until the end. The equipment provided was great. Our guide went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. The porters were also engaging and kind. Outside the busy season, we had the opportunity to sit with the locals around the wood fire ovens and to listen to their stories about bears raiding the village..

EBC – I was a bit worried going to EBC for my very first long hike, but VonKathmandu took excellent care of me: we went shopping for outfits, got my shoes stitched in Namche, we found all the Cappuccinos along the trek, stopped to take photos of every Yak … while enjoying the breathtaking mountain scenery of Taboche, Amadablam, Lotse, Nuptse – and finally Everest, all along. The guide was very knowledgeable about all the view points and extra spots worth exploring along the trek, including a religious festival in Tengboche Monastery, or local chyang curtesy of his parents. A great trip organised by people who love the mountains and want to make sure you have an excellent experience. Langtang – at the end of the trekking season, my lady guide and me, we had the mountains for ourselves. Outside the busy season, we had the opportunity to sit with the locals around the wood fire ovens and to listen to their stories about bears raiding the village, the 2015 earthquake, how to ensure good education for the children, and more recent, about the impact of corona on tourism, Covid cases and vaccination campaigns. Apart from enjoying the forest and the mountains and the serenity and the silence before returning to a busy and noisy Kathmandu, an unexpectedly educational tour as well, with quick impromptu visits to the Chinese border and Nuwakot castle.

My cousin, her tween and teen children, and I completed the 5 day, 4 night Poon Hill/Mohare Trek with stunning views of the Annapurna Massif range and Dhaulagiri mountain range. We were properly and most excellently prepared for the trek by Anjul and Dakshina. And we received the best care ever from our guide Phura Sherpa as well as the porters Suresh and Uttarman. (While I don’t speak Nepali, I loved listening to Phura sing while we hiked. An added bonus!) The Poon Hill views were amazing, as were many points in the trek, but I will never forget sunset and sunrise at Mohare Danda – out of this world! I’m glad we did this in December during the offseason. Coming from Georgia and Ohio in the United States, I appreciated the cooler weather that also meant fewer tourists. The nights were cold but not unbearable. While the uphill parts of this trek were very challenging for me at age 51, this was truly the trek of a lifetime! Thank you vonKathmandu for this exhilarating experience!

Great way to explore the hills surrounding Kathmandu with everything provided – transport, snacks and lunch. This was our 3rd to with Von Kathmandu and they have all been good. Great way to meet fellow walkers, family friendly. The hike (to namobuddha in my case) was amazingly organized, very thoughtful put together and exactly on time. If you are looking for a company to do one of the Kathmandu valley hikes, just stop searching and trust the reviews here. As I’m usually hiking on my own and prefer difficult treks I would say moderate to demanding was a perfect description for this one. It was 15 km long but in terrain which was easily okay for hikers but demanding for more unexperienced participants. Everyone could do it and everyone was taken care of. It was a great day, lunch and water was great and enough. Very professional and high standards.

The trip was amazing and I was so happy to be your guinea pig for this one! I loved how you found and connected the trails behind the trails and took me to corners around Pokhara that I had no idea existed! The choice of hotels was excellent and I will never forget the view from Club ES – it’s totally etched in my mind forever. The most peaceful moment was sitting at Rupa lake – watching birds land and take off. What a welcome little moment of rest before going up the hill! The views of the mountains were so up close and I really appreciated that you found the trails with those gorgeous views! You are an excellent guide, smart, funny, caring. I felt at all times well cared for. On top, you’re an outstanding photographer and the memories you created are a very cool bonus. I recently had the pleasure of going on a few hikes organized by Von Kathmandu around Kathmandu, and I must say that the experience was truly outstanding. The thing about VonKathmandu is that you don't need to worry about anything really (besides them waking you up at an unearthly hour to take you on an incredible trip, which isn't terrible I guess). I went with them for the Everest Base Camp flyby and breakfast at Everest View Hotel - it was well worth it, every cent/paisa.

The price of the Godavari and Lakhuri hike was very reasonable and it was well-organized taking into considerations every group members needs, safety etc. They also modify things while on the hike, should any member need special attention. They know the hills / mountains, they know the good spots to take in the views and they really make the whole thing worth your while. I would highly recommend them for your Nepal adventures.

Von Kathmandu runs wonderful, well organize day hikes around Kathmandu Valley. I’ve gone on several hikes with them, and the hikes are always well thought out and hit many interesting monuments and less traveled trails outside of Kathmandu. The logistics are well organized, with notification of the pick up time the night before, where they are always on time. The hikes can be a bit tough, normally around 15 km in length, but well worth it for the views and fresh air outside of the city! And the sandwich is great!!! The staff is friendly and explains what the expect throughout the hike well. They are always available to give an extra helping hand to anyone that needs it, and warns us if we are approaching a particularly difficult area to ensure the safety of everyone. They also organize longer treks, but I only have gone on their valley hikes. Hikes with Von Kathmandu have been one of the highlights of my time in Kathmandu, and can’t wait to go on more! Highly recommend!!!

I did the “Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes with Chola Pass Trek”, organized by vonKathmandu. The guys VonKathmandu did a phenomenal job from the first contact over planning the trip and choosing the perfect guide for me. The views were just amazing! Reaching the Everest Basecamp and climbing some smaller peaks in the area was a new and wonderful experience. Seeing the glacier and Gokyo Lake up there was stunning as well. Throughout the whole trip I always felt well supported by vonKathmandu, whenever I had a question they answered it right away and they were always caring about how I was doing. I am satisfied how everything worked out and I would highly recommend to do your Nepal trip with those guys, they are just great. The Bosan Pine Hike was an incredible experience. Sunning hike and views. The team is skilled and friendly. The hike took about 6 hours with plenty of small breaks, to ensure everyone arrived together. Tasty sandwiches were provided for lunch with a stunning view under the prayer flags at the top. Before you make it there, you get to stop for some tea or coffee after the first little climb. It’s hard to put in this review how much beauty there is on this 15 km hike. Stunning views of sprawling terraces and seas of yellow mustard flowers. Anuj, Aziz, and Jeevan were gracious guides, making it a fun experience, engaging hikers, and answering questions. Highly recommend, and will be certain to travel through von Kathmandu on my next trip.

Amazing experience! One of the most beautiful hikes I’ve been on, and I never would have been able to find it by myself. I’m not usually a fan of group hikes, but this one was really spectacular. There were some steep climbs, but most was downhill or flat with excellent views the whole way. Definitely plan to bring some water. Snacks and sandwiches were provided and they were very delicious. Highly recommend this hike!

My girlfriend and I were in Nepal for only one week and tried to see as much of the country as possible. Of course one of our main goals was to experience the beautiful countryside and see the mountains. VonKathmandu was recommended to us by local friends and they organized a 3 day hiking trip for us. We were picked up by their guide and a driver in Kathmandu and were driven to Pokhara. The roadtrip there was an experience of its own. Super interesting insight in the inner country. We then met our local porter who would carry all our baggage for the three of us. After a couple of hours of hiking we reached Australian camp (2000m above sealevel) for one of the most beautiful sunsets we have experienced so far. Next morning we started at the break of dawn to hike down all the way down to Pokhara lake and then back up the other side to Raniban Retreat. On day three we hiked to Peace Pagoda, a beautiful buddhist temple high up on a mountain, and then back down to Pokhara where we spent the evening. Our flight back to Kathmandu went back just the next morning. Von Kathmandu organized the whole journey (including all transports) for us very professionally. Everyone spoke perfect english. We received a briefing document on the itinerary and what to bring 2 weeks before and also had a briefing call with our guide 2 day before departure. I can warmly recommend them to anyone visiting the country! Perfect experience.

VonKathmandu provided such an amazing experience trekking to EBC! Our guides were fantastic and knowledgeable, they took great care of us and were so fun. All permits and lodging were taken care of for us, so all we had to worry about was getting up those hills.

I just got back from an Everest Base Camp trek organized by VonKathmandu, and it was one of the highlights of my life! While the landscape and Sherpa culture alone are enough to leave one in awe, solid planning and logistics support on behalf of VonKathmandu staff enabled me to enjoy the trek without worrying about details. I simply grabbed my kit every morning and admired the dramatic landscape before me during the strenuous trek. I especially appreciated my pre-trek briefing with VonKathmandu staff who spared more than an hour out of their busy schedules to go over the 12-day itinerary and answer any questions I had. I was also impressed with the responsiveness of the staff when I had questions or concerns. The Khumbu valley is a remote area with unpredictable internet connectivity, but whenever I checked my phone in the off chance I could connect to WiFi, I always found messages from VonKathmandu staff asking how I was, for pictures of the trek and to offer words of encouragement. Can it get better than that?! Finally, VonKathmandu staff understand the added headache of getting from Kathmandu to Ramechhap in order to fly to Lukla. While they secured my flights from Ramechhap – Lukla – Ramechhap, they also shopped around for helicopter flights from Kathmandu directly to Lukla and found an excellent deal that only added a small amount to my reasonably priced trek fee. Thanks again you guys and great job!
